dear beloved,

you mean the whole world to me
i hate it when you cry
when your wrists are scarred and bleeding
when you hate yourself
when your life means nothing to you, but me

there aren't enough words i could use to say the simple phrase
'i love you'
and if i could figure it out, it still wouldn't be right
you're all i think about
day and night
i miss you the minute you turn away
i wish you were here to stay

you're worth more than the paper hearts you break
you're worth more than all the drugs you take
you're worth more than the smile you fake
you're worth more than what you make
you're worth more than the world
you're worth it

you're so high
i miss the way it was
when you were on the ground
when nothing meant anything to you
and you meant nothing to no one

when you would drink that whiskey from the bottle
not knowing how that makes you feel
nothing you could do could make you smile
nothing could make you feel real

when you would sit alone, thinking about how life should be
tears fill your eyes and hit the floor
and you say you can't take it anymore

your fake smile makes me want to cry
since i know that's only what others see
and you contemplate why
you even care all

i miss your smile
the one hiding behind your tears and pain
the one i used to know
that one no one's seen
